Charles led the team that developed the Dolby Digital Film sound format and is named in four related patents. He recently started Seagrave Instruments to pursue another idea, which could revolutionize the listening environment (or not!) He has been singing since he was a small boy, as his nuclear physicist father directed the local choral society. Charles also sings with the a cappella group Just Voices, and serves on the boards of directors of SingersMarin and Voci.
In his free time, Charles enjoys floating in and on the water in various large bits of fiberglass-reinforced plastic.
