Having recently departed from Dolby Laboratories where he led the team that developed the Dolby Digital Film sound format, Charles is now "rehearsing for retirement." He is named in four patents and is pursuing another, which could revolutionize the listening environment (or not!). He has been singing since he was a small boy, as his nuclear physicist father directed the local choral society. In his free time, Charles enjoys floating in and on the water in various large bits of fiberglass-reinforced plastic.
